Refreshingly lemony infusion. The leaves of the verbena herb are dried particularly gently, thus preserving the incomparable lemony aroma of lemon verbena. The refreshing herbal tea tastes great both hot and cold. Lemon verbena is also often used as a spice herb to refine and flavor dishes, desserts and refreshing drinks.

Preparation: Pour boiling water over 1 - 2 teaspoons for 1 cup and leave to infuse for 5 - 10 minutes.

Verbena has an expectorant, antispasmodic and relaxing effect, which makes it a popular choice for various health problems. Verbena tea works well for respiratory diseases, digestive complaints, gynecology and applications for calming and relaxation.

Verbena has traditionally been used to treat inflammation, heal wounds and reduce fever. In folk medicine, its ability to stimulate the contractions of the uterus was valued, which was said to have a positive effect on the menstrual cycle and relieve menstrual pain.

  • Sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses)
  • Respiratory diseases (bronchitis, sore throat, whooping cough)
  • Fever, asthma
  • Digestive system complaints (heartburn, liver problems, biliary insufficiency)
  • Gout, anemia, migraine, bruising
  • Kidney and bladder infections
  • Menstrual problems and gynecology
  • Rheumatism
  • Metabolic disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism)
  • Nervousness and mild depression

Vervain promotes menstruation, relieves menstrual cramps and was valued in obstetrics for its labor-stimulating ingredients. When breastfeeding, it stimulates the flow of milk.

Its antispasmodic, pain-relieving and calming effect makes vervain particularly valuable for women going through the menopause . A four-week course of two to three cups of verbena tea a day can help to relax the nerves.

Compresses with a cooled infusion of verbena can help with acute headaches and migraines. The tea can also have a supportive effect on unclear anxiety and depressive moods.

The bitter substances in verbena tea make it a good digestive and are suitable for stomach complaints, diarrhea and liver weakness.
