R-alpha lipoic acid according to Dr. med. Michalzik is available in the valuable sodium R-lipoate form. It is the sodium salt of R-alpha lipoic acid. Alpha-lipoic acid is fat and water soluble and a naturally occurring substance in the body. The human organism can produce (synthesize) alpha lipoic acid from the amino acid cysteine and fatty acids, but only in small quantities.
Directions: Adults: 1 capsule 30 minutes before a meal or 2 hours after a meal (or as directed by your therapist). In case of stomach burning, take before eating.
Note for patients taking thyroid hormones: The effect of thyroid hormones can be reduced. Therefore, take only after consulting your doctor and under regular laboratory control.
