Herbal medicine traditionally used for gastrointestinal complaints, colds and local inflammation. Has an antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and wound-healing effect.
Only the dried flower heads of chamomile "Matricaria chamomilla" (also: Matricaria recutita) are used for Aurica chamomile blossom tea. These contain valuable ingredients that have a positive effect against bacteria and fungi, inhibit inflammation and promote digestion. Aurica chamomile blossom tea is therefore the ideal remedy for flatulence, cramps and inflammatory diseases of the stomach and intestines. In the form of compresses, baths or for gargling, chamomile tea is also a tried and tested remedy for treating skin rashes and inflammation of the mucous membranes and gums. It can also be used for inhalation to treat respiratory diseases.
Areas of application:
- Traditional internal use: For mild gastrointestinal complaints such as flatulence and mild cramps.

Dosage instructions and application:
Internal use:
Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults (including the elderly)
Single dose: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 1.5 to 4 g of chamomile flowers, cover and strain through a tea strainer after about 5 to 10 minutes if necessary. Daily dose: 3 to 4 times
Children from 6 to 11 years
Single dose: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 1.5 to 3 g of chamomile flowers, cover and, if necessary, strain through a tea strainer after about 5 to 10 minutes. Daily dose: 2 to 4 times
Children from 2 to 5 years
Single dose: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 1 to 1.5 g of chamomile flowers, cover and, if necessary, strain through a tea strainer after about 5 to 10 minutes. Daily dose: 2 to 4 times
Children from 6 months to 1 year
Single dose: 0.5 to 1 g chamomile flowers are poured over 150 ml boiling water, covered and, if necessary, passed through a tea strainer after about 5 to 10 minutes. Daily dose: 2 to 4 times
Use for inhalation:
Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults (including the elderly)
Single dose: 3 to 10 g chamomile flowers are poured over 100 ml boiling water. Daily dose: several times a day
Children from 6 to 11 years
Single dose: 2 to 5 g chamomile flowers are poured over 100 ml boiling water. Daily dose: 1 to 2 times a day
Application in the oral cavity:
Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults (including the elderly)
Single dose: Pour 100 ml of boiling water over 1 to 5 g of chamomile flowers, cover and strain through a tea strainer after about 5 to 10 minutes. Then rinse or gargle with the infusion. Daily dose: several times a day
External use:
As an addition to partial and sitz baths or rinses, supportive for skin and mucous membrane inflammation in the anal and genital area, provided serious illnesses have been ruled out by a doctor.
Adolescents from 12 years of age and adults (including the elderly)
Single dose: 4.5 to 5 g chamomile flowers are used per 1 liter of water to make a partial or sitz bath or a douche. Daily dose: several times a day.
As an additive for moist compresses and washes for mild inflammation of the skin and superficial wounds.
Adolescents from the age of 12 and adults (including the elderly)
Single dose: Pour 150 ml of boiling water over 3 to 10 g of chamomile flowers, cover and strain through a tea strainer after about 5 to 10 minutes. The infusion is used for ablutions or to make moist compresses. Daily dose: several times a day.
Duration of use: In the case of acute complaints that last longer than a week or recur periodically, as well as if the complaints worsen, a doctor must be consulted.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to chamomile flowers and other composite plants. Partial and sitz baths must not be used on open wounds, large skin injuries, acute skin diseases, high fever and serious infections.

Children:
Internal use: Children under 6 months: Use is not recommended.
Use for inhalation: Children under 6 years of age: Use is not recommended due to the risk of scalding.
Application in the oral cavity: Children under 12 years of age: Use is not recommended due to insufficient data.
External use: Children under 12 years of age: Due to insufficient data, use is not recommended.
Pregnancy and lactation: The safety during pregnancy and lactation has been sufficiently proven. If chamomile flower infusion is applied to the breast, the breast should be thoroughly cleansed before breastfeeding to avoid sensitizing the infant.
Interactions with other products:
Internal use: In patients after kidney transplantation who had taken high doses over a longer period of time (about 2 months), an influence on liver enzymes involved in the metabolism of drugs (cytochrome P450 system) was reported.
Side effects:
Hypersensitivity reactions including severe allergic reactions (shortness of breath, Quincke's edema, circulatory collapse, anaphylactic shock) have been reported after mucosal contact with liquid chamomile flower preparations. The frequency is not known.
