Wild teasel has an exciting past: it is still firmly anchored in traditional Chinese medicine today. But Maria Treben also used it for medicinal purposes. Incidentally, in a very similar way to how Wolf-Dieter Storl uses it today, for example in his book "Borreliose natürlich heilen" (Curing Lyme disease naturally).

In the Middle Ages, preparations made from the root of teasel were recommended externally for sores, warts, small wounds, barley grains, fistulas, skin lichen and internally for liver complaints or stomach diseases.

Recommended dosage:

Adults and children aged 12 and over

• Take two capsules a day unchewed with plenty of water
• Interval: morning and evening
• Interval to meals: at least 1/2 hour (before and after)
• Duration of intake: Six weeks or longer
• Over a longer period (>½ year), ONE capsule a day may be advisable for adults

Children under 12 years of age

• Swallow one capsule in the morning with plenty of water
• Interval to meals: at least 1/2 hour (before and after)
• Alternative if the capsule cannot be swallowed: Open the capsule by gently squeezing and twisting and administer the granules with a small spoonful of honey. Not because honey tastes sweet and good - that is just a side effect. Honey transports the cardoon well into the blood.

Recommended intake for animals:

Dogs

• One capsule per day with food or treats
• Alternatively: Open capsule and feed concentrate

Horses

• For a single dose: 3 capsules per day with feed/treats or on its own
• For twice daily administration: 2 capsules per day with feed/treats or pure. Interval: approx. 12 hours
• Alternative: Open capsule and feed concentrate

Cats

• One capsule a day is sufficient for cats. This should be opened and given with the food
